Christmas Celebrations

Perth Harmony was certainly busy during December 2006 presenting Christmas performance throughout Perth and the metropolitan area. The Mirvac company employed the chorus to entertain at family concerts in Success, Mandurah and Joondalup. The chorus again entertained visitors to Perth City at an evening concert with Men in Harmony and in roving carols throughout the city. Children delighted in PHC quartets joining them on the Santa trains as they headed to the city!

YIBDI Barbershop Big Day Out

Perth Harmony was proud to be Gold Sponsors for the 2006 YIBDI Barbershop Big Day Out and Workshops. This event saw the Musical Island Boys brought from New Zealand to visit various education institutions in Perth and Northam to spread the word about barbershop to the students and their teachers. On the Friday and Saturday our directors Cathy and Carole, along with Gina and BlackJaQ instructed the barbershoppers of the future, culminating in a performance on the stage at St Mary's Anglican Girls' School on Saturday night. New friendships were formed and links forged in the hope that the artform will find its way into the lives of a new generation of singers.

 Quartet Celebrations

Well,... this was certainly not just any ordinary Friday night! The usually quiet little cul-de-sac in suburbia was filled with song from ladies coming from far and wide. Quartets travelled from as far as Geraldton and Darkan to join their friends.

We had Quartets, Octets, Scratch Quartets and Tagging Teams that sang right through until the wee small hours. 'Affogato Blend', 'BlackJaQ', 'Diva Fever', 'Espionage', 'Mad About Ewe', 'Silhouette', 'Soul Joy', 'Wicked Women'.... and even a couple of 'Fascinatin' Rhythms'.

To all the competing quartets preparing for Convention, BEST WISHES. The song packages presented during the evening were spectacular and you will do Western Australia proud. Good friends, great times and the love of singing.... BARBERSHOP! .... When's the next quartet night?
